What owners ask before joining

Who insures the boat during an exchange?
The owner does. Your policy must cover making your boat available to a third party — that is the condition for listing a vessel. Check with your insurer: many companies offer an extension for this use.
Is a specific licence required to borrow a boat?
The club sets no minimum requirement. Your licences, qualifications and sailing experience appear on your profile: the owner decides, in full knowledge, whether to hand over their boat.
What happens if the boat is damaged?
Deposit, excess and procedure are agreed directly between the two owners, before the exchange. EasyYachtClub connects members and manages points — the club is not a party to the agreement between them.
Who pays for fuel and mooring fees?
That is agreed between you. The most common practice is that whoever sails covers the fuel and returns the boat clean and full.
Am I obliged to lend my boat?
You declare the periods when your boat is available, and you approve each request individually. You can decline. But without sharing, you earn no points — and the club loses its purpose.
Where can members sail?
The club opens in mainland France, across its three coastlines. Expansion to other countries will follow the growth of the fleet.
When does the club open?
The opening is gradual and depends on the number of boats listed — an exchange club is only worthwhile with a sufficient fleet. Waiting list members are notified first.
